Redbridge Entertainment

We have been researching entertainment in Redbridge in partners and this is what we found out.

Kenneth Moore Theatre

The Kenneth Moore Theatre is a building which is located in Oakfield Road, Ilford High Road. The KMT is named after a well loved British actor who died in 1982 after a full career on stage, television and films. The British actor is well remembered for his performances like the performance in The Deep Blue Sea (1995) which earned him the Best Actor award at The Venice Film Festival. Also to be remembered for his role in Jolyon ‘Jo’ Forsyte in the 1967 television version of The Forsyte Saga. He was awarded a CBE in the 1970 New Year Honours list.

The KMT’s 34th annual pantomime is on from the 17th December 2008 to 24th January 2009. They are also doing a play of Aladdin and his magic lamp on the 1st February to 29th March 2009. Public sales on 13th of January, to buy call 020 8553 4466.

This air conditioned building is owned by the council but managed by a trust, it also has access for disabled people and a loop system for the hard-of-hearing.

Redbridge dance festival

Every year from February to March dancing fever takes over the public with the launch of the annual dance festival. Always promised to be exciting and colourful the festival brings richness and diversity to our local community and also brings a selection of performances. From ballet to traditional folk dance from around the world, this allows the local teenagers a chance to show what they can do and get discovered and work in the professional context.

The festival will celebrate it’s eighteenth year. If you are a dancer or performer who would like to take part, please call 020 708 2854.
