GCSE and A levels

In Redbridge people do their GCSE because it’s part of their school life. When you’re 14 to 16 year olds, you are available to choose any subject you would like to study and that interests you can take your GCSE.

Your GCSEs are to see what your final results and represents your final grades at the end of secondary school. GCSES are very important for the rest of your life (your jobs). If you have good grades in your GCSE you can get a good job, or go on to study more, like A Levels.

If you want to study a particular subject in detail, AS and A level qualifications may be for you. They are highly valued by schools, colleges, universities and employers.
Many students take AS and A level qualifications in Years 12 and 13, after completing their GCSEs. However, adults can take them too. Some schools also offer AS levels in certain subjects for gifted and talented students in Years 10 and 11 (ages 14 to 16).

People have two options when their doing their A levels, either you can take the second part of A levels which is AS levels.
